Valent Uuthizar, Champion of Tzeentch

And we finish the new year celebrations with another classic, a sorcerer of Tzeentch from the Lost and the Damned days. I've had this figure for 25 years but never painted it. It used to come with a Disk and a flying stem but those were lost a long time ago. Fortunately he doesn't look out of place on his two feet.

The figure was also a test for future colour schemes for my Tzeentch forces; I find my orange recipe will need a bit more work but I'm quite happy with the turquoise and the yellow. He's another figure I intend to use in my second chaos army but who I can use in RoC warbands. I now have at least a champion for each of the chaos gods.

And here is a family portrait of the three classic Champions I recently painted. They were submitted in the Analogue Hobby Painting Challenge "Nostalgia" bonus round.

  1. Might have wanted a diferent colour for teh beak but otherwise he is perfect. Just like fo rthe Slaanesh champ, the colours are bright and yet you manage to avoid any clash. Really nice !

    1. Thanks! The beak was meant to be a much paler yellow but the ink wash removed the difference, and I didn't feel like going back and screw a good thing ;-)

  3. Good job. I've wanted to use this Tzeentch champion as a champion in my current Nurgle army. It has a crow theme and I was going to remove his Tzeentch symbol and paint his as a Nurgle sorcerer.

  5. What superb colours you have achieved. They look very individual and help hold you models together. I always admire painters you go their own way and find their own style. Well done!

  7. Excellent work on these Iannick. I also wish you much success on turning your man cave into a reality. Perhaps my dream of converting the garage into a hobby space will become a reality this year.
